Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes is a great way to enhance cause and effect, vocabulary, as well as color recognition and problem-solving. Anticipation before turning the page is a HUGE part of this book, which enhances a child’s interest (i.e ” LOOK at those strawberries.” I wonder what color his SHOES will be?). At the end of the book, try to recap the sequence of colors that Pete’s shoes were colored.
